Summer Special Bella Donna

Summer Special Bella Donna

Enjoy a wonderful drink during the summer time and otherwise. The Belladonna is one of the easiest tiki-style cocktails you can make. I say that because all you have to remember is the few ingredients.

TOTAL TIME:15 min Prep:10 min ~ Cook: 5 min YIELD:1 serving LEVEL:Easy

INGREDIENTS

2 ounces bourbon (recommended: Maker's Mark)

1/2 ounce fresh lemon juice

1/2 ounce fresh orange juice

1/2 ounce Sugar Gum, recipe follows

2 dashes bitters (recommended: Peychaud's)

Ice cubes, for shaking

Pinch fresh mint

Shaved ice

4 muddled blackberries

SUGAR GUM:

1/2 cup fine sugar

DIRECTIONS

Add the bourbon, juices, Sugar Gum and bitters to a metal cocktail shaker. Top with ice cubes, seal and shake vigorously.

Fill a small mason jar with ice cubes and fresh mint. Strain the liquid over the ice and stir. Top with shaved ice. Garnish with the muddled blackberries.

This recipe was provided by restaurant professionals and may have been scaled down from a bulk recipe provided by a restaurant. The Food Network Kitchens chefs have not tested this recipe, in the proportions indicated, and therefore, we cannot make any representation as to the results.

In small saucepan, combine the sugar and 1/2 cup water. Bring to a boil and stir until combined. Cool, bottle and store until use.
